Athletic Facility Updates Funded by Community Donations as Part of Facility Enhancement Project
The Black River Facility Committee projects are proceeding.   As you go by the Black River Local Schools, you will see changes on the grounds and campus.  Many of these changes are funded by private donations to the Black River Facility Committee.
Prepared for Learning Campaign
The Prepared for Learning Campaign has been created with the intent to put children first and give them the tools they need to prepare for learning.
On August 23, the doors to the Black River Education Center will be open for the first 100 Black River students in grades K-12 to come in and start to prepare for the new school year.

Kindergarten
Thank you for registering and enrolling your child in kindergarten at Black River! The kindergarten teachers will be holding one more screening session on August 17th, 2017 for students who recently registered or who were not screened in May. Following that session, a mailing will be sent home with a copy of their screening results, a nametag/bus tag for the first few days of school, and a welcome letter from their teacher!
The start of the school year for kindergarten is a bit different from the rest of the school. Kindergarten follows a staggered start schedule at the start of the school year. If your child's last name starts with A-L, their first day of kindergarten will be Monday, August 28th. If your child's last name starts with M-Z, their first day will be Tuesday, August 29th. On Wednesday, August 30th, all of the friends in each class will come to kindergarten together! Our school day is from 9:00AM-3:30PM and we follow an all day, every day kindergarten schedule.
Open House will be held on August 30th from 4:00-6:00PM. Students and their families are welcome to visit the classroom and school at that time. Students are also welcome to bring in school supplies that evening. An updated school supply list can be found on the Kindergarten page of the Elementary School website.
We look forward to meeting all of the new kindergarten students and are looking forward to a wonderful 2017-2018 school year!
