Black River Boys Basketball Program Begins Preparing for 2019-2020 Basketball Season

Black River’s High School Boys Basketball program is beginning preparations for the 2019-2020 season under the direction of head coach, Randy Endsley.

Endsley has been a part of the Black River Local School District for three years, working within the district as both the middle school STEM teacher and varsity basketball coach.

“I have enjoyed my time working with the students in the Black River Local School District,” said Endsley. “Teaching and coaching are a passion of mine, and I am looking forward to the start of the academic year and for the direction of the Pirate Basketball program.”

This year, Endsley and the Black River basketball coaching staff are taking a new approach to basketball camp. Acknowledging parent and student work schedules as well as vacation time during the summer months, basketball camp will now be held in the fall prior to the beginning of youth basketball season.

The goal is to position this camp after the youth football season has concluded but before basketball season starts. The camp will run immediately after school, so for transportation purposes, only student pick-up will be necessary.

“After the week of camp, Saturday morning games will be held each Saturday through to the beginning of Christmas Break,” said Endsley. “I am excited to work with the athletes and help in their basketball skill development. Expect a flyer to come home with more details in September.”
