I was born in Traverse City, Michigan, however I was raised in Lorain, Ohio. I enjoy watching all sports especially college football and all Cleveland professional sports. I'm a huge Browns and Indians fan. I have two sons (19/16) where I reside in LaGrange, Ohio. I enjoy watching reality t.v., walking, playing bingo and cards. I attended The University of Toledo ('88-'92), Ashland University ('92-'94) where I earned my bachelor's degree. Bowling Green State University ('99-'01) where I received my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I started teaching at Black River Middle School in 2003 as an Intervention Specialist and transitioned to the high school in 2008. I have been teaching special education for 26 years. When I first entered college I wanted to be a Speech Language Pathologist because my grandparents on my mother's side were deaf. After taking college courses I decided it wasn't the right path for me, but I knew I wanted to work within a school setting with students who struggled in school. I knew teaching was for me over any other career option.
