As many of you are aware, the Federal Government has passed several pieces of legislation since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic which directs additional funding toward schools for use in targeted areas. The American Rescue Plan (ARP), signed into law in March 2021, provided $122 billion for the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund. As such, Black River Local School District was a recipient of these funds. During a special meeting of the Black River Local School District Board of Education on June 3, the Board formally adopted a tentative plan for the use of our allotted ESSER funding. It is important that we share these important updates with our families and community. We are excited for the many unique opportunities that will come from this funding and remain dedicated to providing ongoing communication as projects and initiatives come to fruition.
