We want to help people get started running for their mental health. So often, people say you just need a pair of shoes to go out and run, but at Still I Run we understand it can be a bit more daunting than that. There can be barriers such as not knowing how to get started, no accountability group to keep you on track, lack of funds to purchase quality running shoes, uncertainty about signing up for a race, etc. We want to reduce all of those barriers as much as possible and that’s why we created the Starting Line Scholarship
program to help people get started running for their mental health.
Recipients of the Starting Line Scholarship will receive a pair of quality running shoes, socks, shirt, and shorts, along with some fun Still I Run gear. They’ll also get a running coach who will virtually coach them for 10-12 weeks. If the recipient desires, they’ll also get entry into the race of their choice (in-person or virtual), and their provided coach will help them get to the starting line of that race while the Still I Run community cheers them on to the finish! We’ll also provide a mentor to the recipient as well.
To apply for the scholarship, we ask everyone to fill out our application here
. Anyone is welcome to apply. We just ask that every application is accompanied by a letter of recommendation. We choose recipients every quarter throughout the year.
