Following a day of tossing toasters (and bowling balls and mannikin heads and ...) back in October to demonstrate Newton's Second Law, the freshman physical science classes performed another exploratory lab to investigate the physics of work. Student teams of three completed a series of seven tasks -- including pushups, climbing onto the tables, and pulling a wagon -- and measured forces, distances and speeds in order to calculate work. Potential energy and the Potato Drop lab are coming up!
