banquet

The Black River FFA Chapter recently hosted its annual Parent/Member Banquet, a much-anticipated evening celebrating student achievements, chapter milestones, and the strong community support that fuels its success. With over 250 guests in attendance, the banquet highlighted the dedication and accomplishments of FFA members throughout the year.

The evening kicked off with a delicious catered dinner followed by a lively cake and silent auction. Fifteen current and alumni members crafted agricultural-themed cakes, pies, and cupcakes to be auctioned off, raising valuable funds to support member participation in state and national FFA conventions as well as Career Development Events (CDEs). A special thank you goes to Mr. Chuck Stiver for generously donating his time and talent as auctioneer.

The formal program began with the introduction of the 2024–2025 Chapter Officer Team. Throughout the night, numerous students and community partners were recognized for their contributions to the chapter’s success. One of the evening’s highlights was a keynote speech from Mr. Chris Clark, a proud FFA alumnus and former superintendent of Black River Local Schools. Mr. Clark inspired attendees with his message about the power of seizing opportunities and how active FFA involvement can open doors to personal and professional growth.

Pine Crest Farms, owned by Stephen and Robin Kormos, was honored with the Chapter’s prestigious Honorary Degree in recognition of their continued support and dedication—most notably, by providing employment opportunities for members during the fall season and assisting with flower and pumpkin production.
